To the Glory of God and in Most Loving Memory of our Dear Son Ralph Twisden Butler, Asst. Paymaster on H.M.S. Hampshire, youngest son of the Revd. Pierce Butler, C.F. Rectorof this Parish and Daisy, his wife, Asst. Observation Officer on the foretop throughout the great naval battle off Jutland, to perish a few days later when his ship struck a mine and went down in the North Sea, June 5th 1916, aged 20 years. "Beautiful evermore, and with the rays of morn on his white shield."

To the Glory of God and in Proud and loving Memory of Armar Somerset Butler, Lieut, South Lancashire Regt. attached Royal Flying Corps, 3rd son of the Revd. Pierce Butler, (Rector of this Parish) and Daisy, his wife, he fell in action, in Macedonia, while bombing the enemy lines, October 16th 1917, aged 24 years. Brave, true, and steadfast. A very dear son. "He has bought his eternity in a little hour, and is not dead."
